Raikkonen fastest in the final pre-season test |
Raikkonen's time came on Day four, the last day, with his 1.22.030 the fastest of the four days by just six hunderedths of a second from Sergio Perez, who topped Day Three. Jenson Button was the third of the big teams, his fastest time of his running was third. Fernando Alonso was sixth with Felipe Massa tenth for Ferrari. The Italian team do appear to be struggling to understand their very radical new car, with the car seeming inconsistent. At times it seems very fast and competitive, whereas the next minute Alonso and Massa are struggling to control it. Lewis Hamilton was eleventh fastest of all 20 drivers, while Mark Webber was thirteenth in the Red Bull RB8. His team mate Sebastian Vettel was actually the slowest man over all four days, or to be more precise, his fastest time was the slowest of anyone's fastest time. This shouldn't be a problem though, as Red Bull still look strong.
