Vettel shines with brilliant Monza pole

Sebastian Vettel was on fire again as he took pole position in Italy.

Sebastian Vettel's amazing dominance of qualifying this season reached a new height with a scintillating pole position at Monza. He took pole on a track which is Red Bull's weakest, beating both McLaren's with a brilliant lap. Lewis Hamilton lines up second while Jenson Button is 3rd, after aborting his fastest lap. Fernando Alonso got absolutely everthing out of his Ferrari for 4th, while Mark Webber was angry with 5th.
Fernando Alonso produced a flawless lap to take 4th.

Felipe Massa managed 6th, while Petrov was 7th. Michael Schumacher outqualified his team mate Nico Rosberg for 8th, while Bruno Senna completed the top 10. Paul di Resta was 11th, Kamui Kobayashi 17th, while Jarno Trulli beat Heikki Kovalainen.

Another great performance from Vettel, but with McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes all contenders, tomorrow will be interesting.

  1. Vettel was super today. It was so fun watching him. Mark was very disappointing. I was really surprised that Paul yet again outqualified Sutil but this time at a track that he'd never raced on prior to this weekend. I really feel Sutil's had his time in F1 and hasn't done anything with it.

  2. Hmm, I think when Sutil drives like he did at Korea, then he's had his time. But then he does some good drives as well. He's a funny driver to say the least.
